Game 2024
Hockey is deeply woven into Canadian identity, yet for many newcomers and lifelong fans alike, attending their first NHL game remains out of reach. Scotiabank’s First Game initiative set out to change that by giving two Canadians the opportunity to experience hockey at its highest stage, the Stanley Cup.
The creative approach centered on the emotional significance of first-time experiences, capturing the anticipation, wonder, and connection that make moments like these unforgettable. A restrained black-and-white visual language was developed to create a timeless, human perspective, allowing authentic reactions to lead the storytelling.
Working alongside Copywriter Raman Gulati and the animation team at Scotiabank Lighthouse, the campaign was realized as a unified national rollout across in-branch video, out-of-home, and digital channels, extending the excitement of the game to audiences across Canada.
