I like making the most of opportunities.

After studying Marketing at South Carolina State for almost two years, I found myself unsure of my choice. So when I heard about the new degree they were offering in Digital Media, I thought why not? After all, I was always sketching, loved cartoons, video games, and had a keen eye for detail. Sounded like a perfect fit.

And it was. From design fundamentals and printmaking to animation and curating art exhibitions, my last two years were filled with challenges, late nights and lots of adult swim (IYKYK).

After graduating I worked at my first ad agency in Trinidad and Tobago. And they threw me right in. Designing print ads, creating illustrations, photo retouching and even some copywriting. Working with so many talented people at such a fast pace, was a priceless education. I was petrified, but I had to get better, and quickly.

So I did. And after a decade I had worked with many different agencies and clients, including Caribbean Airlines, Hilton, Newsday, White Oak, TTMF, ANSA McAL, and The Office of the Prime Minister.

Then I decided to go back to school again and moved to where I call home today, Canada. I went to Humber College and enrolled in the Advertising Copywriting post grad course, which would be my first formal education in advertising.

I still had so much to learn, and was humbled immediately. My teachers were industry vets, and they could smell bullshit a mile away. So I had to bring my A-game. From short and long form writing, taglines, and radio jingles, to donation writing, strategy and execution of fully integrated campaigns, they put us through the gauntlet.

And it was just what I needed, graduating with a whole new depth of understanding about my craft, that put me in rare company. Because not only was I an art director, I was a copywriter too. And that opened doors.

Since then, I’ve worked across both disciplines with brands including Kleenex, Kahlúa, Pizza Hut, Poise, Toronto Parking Authority, TD Bank, and Scotiabank — writing, designing, developing strategy, and helping shape integrated campaigns alongside global teams.

Today, I help brands find the sharpest version of their voice and the strongest expression of their identity, aligning strategy, language, and design into ideas that move people and drive results.

Because memorable creative doesn’t just look good.

It makes an impact.
